lindsey, eric, and i found a newborn little bird at Panera that fell about 12 feet out of it's nest today and was injured on the ground.

we spent all day taking care of it, it didnt even have feathers yet, or even open it's eyes. none of us had any idea how to take care of an injured baby bird, and neither did anyone at the stores. we bought food, hand fed it and prayed it would be okay, by the end of the day it seemed like it was doing well...

then it just started coughing, coughed up this black stuff, and stopped moving. we were all there when it died. lindsey held it in her hands.

we put it in it's home with it's blanket, lit it on fire, and pushed it into the Bayou by the Cove.
birds should have viking funerals.

i hope next time around things are better for you little bird.

the exact same thing happened to me over the summer when i was in california.

having something die in your hands, big or small, is the saddest thing ever.
